Innovation Academy Petition for In-Person CLAS Courses in Fall

Innovation Academy (IA) is a Spring-Summer program. All coursework is expected to be completed during the Spring and Summer terms. Fall course options are available via online sections. Students with well-documented extenuating circumstances may petition for an exception.

To petition to enroll for fall semester courses in CLAS, you must complete the following steps.

  1. Meet with an advisor to discuss your petition before submitting. Not all petitions will be approved.
  2. Select the type of petition you are submitting for further details and requirements.
Universal Tracking Hold

If you have or will receive for the next tracking term a Universal Tracking Hold for your declared major, you must have your critical tracking status reviewed by your College Advisor before submitting the petition.

Course Problems

All departments offering majors for Innovation Academy offer required coursework during the Spring-Summer semesters. If there are specific course requirements that are offered ONLY in fall terms and there are NO online options, you will need confirmation by the department Undergraduate Coordinator (UGC) for your major. Major elective courses will not be considered.

Delayed Graduation (Students in Tracking Term 5 or higher ONLY)

The Undergraduate Coordinator (UCG) or Department Advisor for your major needs to review your IA graduation plan WITHOUT any of the requested courses scheduled in fall terms and confirm that it is not possible to graduate by your 8th term. CLAS majors will also need a signature by their college advisor in addition to their UGC.

Other
