Shadow physicians in a hospital in various locations in Italy for 20 hours per week in partnership with the Atlantis program. Placements in Italy are typically in smaller towns such as Ferrara Mantua, and Gorizia. Final city locations are usually confirmed in early Spring and are subject to change. Students will rotate through multiple departments in the local hospital observing physicians and residents in a variety of medical fields.
The online internship course will allow students to reflect on their experiences and earn 3 credits (graded S/U). Each week students will also participate in an excursion of cultural, regional, or historical interest, enjoying the beauty of Italy and learning about Italian culture.
